Tennessee rapper SMO is known for blending hip-hop and country into multiple Top 20 albums.
∙ SMO started out by releasing five independent albums of his self-described “hick-hop” hybrid between 2002 and 2010.
∙ The music video for his 2010 viral smash, “Kickin It In Tennessee,” helped him score a record deal.
∙ Kuntry Livin’, his 2014 major-label debut, featured guest spots from country stars Darius Rucker and Frankie Ballard and reached the Top 40 of the Billboard 200 chart.
∙ From 2014 to 2015, he starred in the TV reality show Big Smo, based on his life and career.
∙ His 2015 EP, Bringin’ It Home, was a Top 20 hit on Billboard’s Top Country Albums and Top Rap Albums charts.
∙ This One’s for You, from 2019, featured a duet with Platinum-selling rapper Afroman on their ode to legalized marijuana, “Colorado Bound.”
