About Kayo Dot
Brooklyn-based avant-garde metal group Kayo Dot, led by composer and multi-instrumentalist Toby Driver, defies genre boundaries with a fusion of progressive, black, and gothic metal, electro-acoustic textures, and chamber composition. Since their 2003 debut, Choirs of the Eye, the band has continually evolved, embracing electronic elements in Plastic House on Base of Sky (2016) and returning to their doom-laden roots with Moss Grew on the Swords and Plowshares Alike (2021). 2025's Every Rock, Every Half-Truth Under Reason reunited the original lineup and introduced "liminal metal," a spectral, microtonal style resisting algorithmic predictability.
Members of Kayo Dot include, or have included, Toby Driver.
