About Mrs. GREEN APPLE
Mrs. GREEN APPLE, a Japanese pop-rock outfit operates with a knack for masking deep emotional complexities behind stadium-sized, candy-colored hooks.
The group (formed in Tokyo in 2013) was spearheaded by leader and principal songwriter Motoki Ohmori, quickly carving out a space in the Japanese rock scene by pairing theatrical, high-energy arrangements with lyrics that explore the messy realities of growing up.
Making their major-label debut with the 2015 EP Variety, the band showcased Ohmori’s elastic vocal range and an ambitious, genre-blurring sound that effortlessly leaped from frantic rock to sweeping synth-pop.
Tracks like 2019’s explosive “Inferno” proved their ability to craft hard-hitting, anime-ready rock anthems, while their return from a brief hiatus in 2022—dubbed “Phase 2” of their career—ushered in an era of even sharper pop sensibilities. 2023’s Antenna delivered songs that are as technically dazzling as they are emotionally resonant, while the collection Inferno & More Hits celebrated the band’s catalog.
Ultimately, Mrs. GREEN APPLE offer listeners a vibrant, fist-pumping escape, but always keep one foot planted in genuine, relatable vulnerability.
