Amaranthe has alternated among three lead singers with contrasting styles: Henrik Englund Wilhelmsson death-metal growl, Jake E.’s “clean” vocals, and Elize Ryd soaring soprano.
∙ In 2012, Elize Ryd raised her profile when she toured and recorded with American power-metal band Kamelot.
∙ While some fans trolled Amaranthe on social media for having a female lead singer, others championed Elize Ryd, inspiring other women to follow in her footsteps.
