Artist Biography
At age three, gospel performer Anthony Brown heard “Pachelbel’s Canon,” and then wowed his parents by immediately playing the tune by ear on a piano.
∙ Before his career in gospel music, Brown performed John Legend covers and considered going in a similar musical direction.
∙ He wrote the song “It Ain’t Over,” which became a No. 1 gospel hit for Maurette Brown Clark in 2009.
∙ In 2012, Anthony Brown & group therAPy released their self-titled debut, which was nominated for a Dove Award for Contemporary Gospel/Urban Album of the Year.
∙ The band won a record-setting 10 Stellar Awards in 2017, the most ever by an artist in one ceremony.
∙ They have earned two Grammy nominations: Best Gospel Performance/Song, for 2015’s “Worth (Live),” and Best Gospel Album, for 2020’s 2econd Wind: Ready.
