Artist Biography
Singer Chris Isaak’s love for roots rock ’n’ can be traced back to the womb—his mother, Dorothy, says she was singing “Blue Suede Shoes” in the delivery room when he was born.
∙ In his senior year of high school, he was student body president, class valedictorian, and head of the all-male cheer squad.
∙ Isaak was once a light heavyweight boxer in Japan and speaks Japanese fluently.
∙ “Wicked Game” became a radio hit after it was featured in director David Lynch’s Wild at Heart, earning Isaak his first Gold single.
∙ Famed fashion photographer Herb Ritts directed Isaak’s “Wicked Game” video, as well as the clip for “Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing,” which in 1996 was considered too risque to air before 11 p.m.
∙ Isaak appears as an FBI agent in David Lynch’s film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.
∙ Along with members of his real-life band, Isaak starred in his own scripted TV sitcom, The Chris Isaak Show.
