Artist Biography
Born Daniel Lee Chee Hun on July 1, 1982, Daniel Lee -- as he went for performance purposes -- was a popular Malaysian singer and pop star. He initially earned instant fame by winning season two of the reality television talent competition Malaysian Idol, and from there released his first single, "Mimpi" ("Dream," in English) in late 2005. The single was a hit and was soon followed up by a full-length release, which was a self-titled affair. In 2007, Lee released album number two, Unavoidable. The former coffee shop performer was followed intensely by a fan group known as the Pinkies -- named so because Lee frequently wore pink T-shirts during his time on Malaysian Idol. In addition, Lee made a handful of television appearances, as a temporary host, and as a guest on the television drama, Sky, in 2007. ~ Chris True
