About Lolas
A long-tenured power pop band from Birmingham, Alabama, the Lolas are led by singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Tim Boykin. Their reputation was built on a harmony-rich sound that wed the melodic sensibilities of the '60s with the more aggressive punk energy of the '70s. Standout releases like 1999's Ballerina Breakout and 2001's Silver Dollar Sunday carried them through their first era which ended in a 2006 hiatus. Boykin revived the Lolas in 2019, sparking a prolific second phase that began with A Dozen or Seven Tapestries and continued into the 2020s with albums like All Rise (2021) and Big Hits and Freak Disasters (2025).
