Shaya Zamora crafts powerful songs that use indie folk's blend of intimacy and intensity to help transcend popular conceptions of Christian music. Growing up in rural Washington, Zamora turned to writing and performing music as a means of finding strength and healing in the midst of personal troubles. Early singles like 2023's "Holding On" are affecting showcases of Zamora's richly textured vocals and his vivid expressions of faith and resilience, qualities that connect his work with that of David Kushner, Zach Webb, and other artists forging new paths for faith-based music. In 2024, Samora released his debut EP, Eulogize. Over the course of its new songs, he demonstrates his music's growing range, with Zamora counterbalancing the force and passion of "Cigarette" with the Bon Iver-like delicacy of "Only Hurting Yourself."
