One of the major touchstone groups in the early development of ambient-house, Space was formed by Orb mainman Dr. Alex Paterson and the KLF's Jimi Cauty. Just after Paterson and Cauty recorded and released the Orb single "A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the Centre of the Ultraworld" in late 1989, they began working on an inner-space album. Though the duo split early in 1990, Cauty released the recordings later in the year on KLF Communications as the Space LP. ~ John Bush
