About Sub Urban
Producer, singer, and songwriter Sub Urban creates a haunting dark-pop sound exemplified by his 2019 viral smash “Cradles.”
• Raised in New Jersey by his Taiwanese mother and French Canadian father, Danny Maisonneuve began studying classical piano at age six.
• He began producing music digitally at age 15 and dropped out of school to focus on music in 2016.
• Thanks in part to its popularity on TikTok, where it’s soundtracked more than 2.7 million videos, his 2019 single “Cradles” became a massive streaming hit. The single reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart.
• Sub Urban explores themes of adolescent angst on his 2020 debut EP, Thrill Seeker. The heavily streamed “Freak” features Korean American alt-pop sensation REI AMI.
