Unionen are a dynamic electric jazz group who play music that straddles the boundaries of post-bop, jazz-rock, prog, and avant-garde music. The lineup includes keyboardist Ståle Størlokken (Supersilent), saxophonist and session ace Per "Texas" Johansson (he also leads a quartet), bassist Petter Eldh (Koma Saxo), and Gard Nilssen (Supersonic Orchestra). They decided to work together in early 2023 and rehearsed and played live shows. In 2024 they continued touring before recording and releasing an eponymous debut album for We Jazz.
