About Warning
Warning are a British doom metal band formed in 1994 by vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Patrick Walker. They are widely regarded as influential within the doom metal genre. Their trademark sound is deeply emotional, slow tempo, and mournful. Their music relies on low-end, atmospheric guitar riffs and expressive, clean, distinctively fragile vocals by Walker. Following two 1997 demos, Warning released debut album The Strength to Dream, in December 1999. They split for the first time in 2007. After Walker reassembled them for 2005's the Doom Shall Rise III festival, Warning followed with 2006's globally acclaimed Watching from a Distance. The band split again in 2009. They re-formed in 2016 to perform Watching from a Distance on a tenth anniversary tour, resulting in Watching from a Distance: Live at Roadburn. In April 2026, Walker announced a third album from Warning, titled Rituals of Shame; it appeared from Relapse in June.
