College Savings

You seem to wonder why

We never kiss

I'm bound to hunger by

You're unruly flip

And though I wonder too

How he never saw

Somehow he never knew

The thing we sought

Like a common tear

Like a comet tail

Oh the things we fear

For them to hit the ground

And I can't keep all the thoughts that wash my way ahead of me

Just to fear an enemy, oh to fear itself

And even a hair that grows and grazes on each side of me

It eats the love in me, that virus, jealousy

We're the animals

From lines of dust

And when it settles

It's still with us

A claw for something

We've seen unseen

Make a strong assumption

It makes the best of me

And false security

Addicted empathy

Rots inside of me

While I pretend to sleep

And I don't bring a lot to a table made of mud and paper shavings

I kept my college savings, someday I'll run stupidly away

And how you gonna trust a man who's only gonna leave you for the window

Sad soggy fellow, down together down alone
