Texty
Two yellow lines lay out before me
Too many stars to try to count
It’s getting colder now the weather is changing
A little car became a house
A gentle nod toward true ambition
A little scared of what comes next
Two yellow lines to where I’m going
Just don’t know where the hell I'm at
Oh the world turns 'round
And people change
But I keep falling
My internal compass keeps on shifting
I don’t know what’s right or wrong no more
Just buckle down and hit the burning pavement for a while
And pray two yellow lines can bring me home
I’m getting sick of small town kindness
And feeling sorry for myself
I guess I lost all my conviction
I figured God would help me out
Oh the world turns round
And habits fade
But I keep falling
My internal compass keeps on shifting
I don’t know what’s north or south no more
Just buckle down and hit the burning pavement
And pray two yellow lines can bring me home
And I'm too afraid to ask for some directions
'Cause in my mind that means I'm letting myself down
Been stuck in second gear for all my life and as it turns out
Sometimes yellow lines can let you down
I thought that time would make me stronger
But then I was a little kid
Who dreamed of superhero powers
And how the world would soon be his
My internal compass keeps on shifting
And there are some things I will never know
But just a few more miles 'till those North Atlantic shores
And soon two yellow lines will bring me home
