Playing Field (2021 Album Remaster)

It suddenly stopped, everything went quiet.

All the voices of reason silenced.

No more place for the freedom fighters

to speak their minds.

Contradiction from the hands of power.

These poor decisions that are changing by the hour

and the hypocrites, they leave a taste so sour

as they duck and dive.

So how did we get caught in the middle of this?

We’ve seen the whole world change at the flick of a switch

and there’s a million things we didn’t realise that we’d miss

but you don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone.

So can we just step back to how things used to be

but with a few key changes for humanity.

Let’s have a level playing field with no more poverty/hypocrisy (in this democracy)

the way that things should’ve been all along.

Stay alert cos all the rules are hazy.

These fuzzy guidelines that we follow vaguely.

All the moving of the goalposts is enough to send us crazy.

Don’t know what to do.

So step aside cos we need some clear direction.

Make up your minds cos we’re tired of second guessing

and our lives depend on the decisions that you’re making

but you’ve got no clue.
