Before the sun is up, I climb upon a mountain top To see the balloons The pilots are bringing them soon For the morning I find my favorite place, a stone beside a windmill base From here I can see it all The fields and the town walls In the dawning I like it up here Where no one gets to see my face Where no one mocks me, bothers me, or calls me names And as I wait, I pray that one day I will leave this place, and start all anew Ride with my mom, the balloon Drift with the winds far away Where I might find a true friend I feel the warming rays of sunlight shining on my face The sky is burning In the breeze, the windmills start slowly turning And down below Balloons are filled with air with two already standing there The green and the violet one And the people are climbing on They all seem to be taking off at once The sky is full of them The hot air makes them rise higher and higher in the blue A fleet of giant balloons They could be flying with the winds All the way to the moon And as I watch I know that one day I will leave this place and start all anew Ride with my mom, the balloon Fly with the winds far away Where I will find a new friend I close my eyes and for a moment I can rise higher and higher in the wind My mother named me Anil But I'm not free until we have finally left from here I watch them fly away and all their colors are so beautiful And bright in the sky I get up and wave them goodbye And on my way down the hill I smile for a short while I know that one day I can ride with them and leave this place to start all anew Fly with my mom, the balloon Drift with the winds far away Where I'll meet my new friends
