Springtime

I've been bundled up for so long I'm not sure If I'm ready to let my guard Walk out the door Two years of this Winter and I've been fine The monsters in my closet Have kept me safe and dry But you've been opening the windows Chipping the rust away Drawing back the curtains Letting the dust get in your face And it kinda scares me That you're not even fazed You just hang up my coat Let light into my space and I don't see my shadow now I think Spring is coming around It happened so slowly Mechanism of defense Keeping my head down Putting up a fence Too scared of the storm to go out I'd rather watch the rain fall From inside my house But you've been skipping through puddles Getting water in your eyes Laughing as it's coming down And it's drawing me outside And it kinda scares me That you're not even fazed You just hand me my raincoat And say "it's gonna be okay" And I don't see my shadow now I think Spring is coming around April showers Bring the flowers But there's beauty in them both All these hours Locked in my tower When I could have been watching them grow Now I know And it kinda scares me That you've not run away You just sit beside me And all the darkness drains And I don't see my shadow now I think Spring is coming around Mmm, yea I think it's Springtime now
