Winter is here

With strong winds that beat against me

Each winter is more bitter than the last

My whole life I wished I could be like the trees who live in gentle spring But I realized something

Though the winters are strong, I too have grown strong

More courageous, more rooted

More able to withstand it

Without them, I wouldn't be me

So I'll stay here

I'll live with it, contend with it

These bitter winds bring beautiful light
