Up here on the stage

I may seem warm and friendly

But looks can be deceiving

And the minute my set's over

I'll be packing up and leaving

Crowds of people make me nervous

But I'm not that good at talking

It's stressful to be up here

And hard on the old ticker

But it makes me smile, it's all worthwhile

When I hear you people snicker

In my youth I was a loudmouth

A brash obnoxious twit

Desperate for success to top the charts to score a hit

But bad luck, or average talent

Either way I was defeated

And tail between my legs into my shell

I retreated

I'm an introvert
