Workin' On a Weekend

5 rolls around earlier on mondays

A cup of dark roast hits different on other days

My old truck rides better when it ain’t headed to work

Tuesdays and Wednesdays are just quite the same reminiscing on good time to get me through the day, boots kicked up I got a Dixie cup chocked full of some winter green

And Thursdays here and we’re getting somewhere I can smell that old Johnson fired up in the air

Suns going down but it’s coming back up

It’s Friday girl let’s load up the truck

I gotta be back soon sign on the front porch, ice chest in the bed it’s already loaded up. My phones shutting down, and then we’re out of this town and I ain’t answering to no one...

thinking about doing a little fishing all day long.. might drink a little Jim until the Beam calls me home .. nothing but line and plenty of time and damn I’m feeling alright

When it’s time to clock out I’m going to do it all over again

I usually take lunch around 2 o clock a little sandwhich & a 6 pack out by attackapas out at the lake, with a rod and some bait, soaking up them ole sun rays

When the ice is running low and the Beers are no longer cold…

And the fish quit biting I got one place we can go

And it’s got a cast iron pot and it’s full of hot grease

Little Saturday night football up on the tv

Filet’ing some fish to some Foret Tradition while I’m sipping on a cold one

Watching the boats pass by on that pretty Belle River

While This cold Bud Lights doing work on my liver

There’s a buzz going down, and LSU’s in town and I’m feeling pretty good my friend but when its time to clock out I’ll do it all over again no I don’t mind workin’ on a weekend

It’s just one of those nights I’ll be putting in some over time

Yeah With the day behind and a bottle of shine I’ll be just fine
