Empty little boxes

I can't seem to throw them out

They wait on the bookshelf

To see if I sort them out

They used to be so full of life

But I lost those earrings once or twice

All the buttons sewed on shirts and boots and coats

Play a part in all my anecdotes

Am I the only one who gets tired fast

With the new I  leave old in the past

It's so easy to let them go

harder to applicate to people though

Extravagant notebooks

First pages with notes on them

With pamphlets and tickets

To plays I've now forgotten
