O God, Help Me

Watching all from above

Do you see when I'm shoved

Into unwanted despair?

And do you hear all my cries

When I'm brought down with lies?

Can you throw me a care?

O Lord, you feel so far off

You know each time it's not a one-off

I'm supposed to be still

While you do what you will

But it seems you're not there

So here's my prayer

O God, help me with my faith

O God, help me find my place

Take the load off my mind

Any struggle you find

Command it not to return

There's an evil at play

Keep the devil at bay

So that I don't get burned

I only hear the liar

I'd vote for time of final fire

I am tired and used

Beaten up and abused

May I see some concern?

To you I turn

O God, help me with my faith

I've read of perfect peace

Could you explain this please?

Desired but out of reach

Or are your promises just a tease?

How much suffering must I take?

And will you ever give me a break?

All this heaviness I can't shake

My body, soul and spirit aches
