The Word of God is sent to earth from heaven,

as food to strengthen weary hearts below.

I am the Bread of Life.”

He said, “Believe the words of life I give you,

foreshadowed by the manna long ago.

This is my Body, this my Blood.

As Moses fed God’s people in the desert,

the bread of God comes down to earth at last.

I am the Bread of Life.

Who comes to me shall never thirst or hunger;

herein are hopes, desires and dreams surpassed.

This is my Body, this my Blood.

Whoever eats this bread shall live forever,

this bread, my Body, is my gift to you.

I am the Bread of Life.

All those who drink this cup will share my friendship,

and I will raise them up to life anew.

This is my Body, this my Blood.

The Lord has come to be our life’s companion,

a banquet for his friends, he shall provide.

I am the Bread of Life.

Unless you eat the food of life eternal,

with Christ the Lord you cannot long abide.

This is my Body, this my Blood.

 shall prepare a placIe for you in glory,

that where I am my friends may also be.

I am the Bread of Life.

Be not afraid, let not your hearts be troubled,

as you believe in God believe in me.

This is my Body, this my Blood.

If you would love me, treasure my commandments;

the Holy Spirit I will send to you.

I am the Bread of Life.

Abide in me, as I am in my Father;

who loves me, to my word is ever true.

This is my Body, this my Blood.

I pray, O Father, that they be united;

the glory that is yours is theirs to see.

I am the Bread of Life.

Such love as ours, which makes us one forever,

I ask for those who now believe in me.
