There’s a lot of tension about

And so much speaking without

Feeling around

What I want is never the same

Or as easy as blaming

Someone else but me

With or without any shame

Walking with me day by day

My ball and chain

My one mainstay is pain

When it seems there’s nothing awry

I feel this energy rise and

Wash my hopes away sure as

Night follows day
