This morning I woke up feeling broken

Old voices in my head still speaking

Telling me I should be more

Than this heart that feels so sore

But I caught myself this time

Before the spiral could unwind

Whispered softly"It's okay

To just be human for today"

This is how to hold myself

With gentle hands, not someone else's

This is how to love the parts

That fall apart, that miss the mark

I'm learning how to hold myself

In darkness and in light

I'm finally finding out

I'm enough, just as I am tonight

My silence doesn't make me weaker

My sadness doesn't make me smaller

All these pieces make me whole

Every season of my soul

No more hiding from my tears

No more drowning in my fears

I'll be tender with my heart

It's been brave right from the start
