It's 2007, sitting in a theatre

I didn't know what we're 'bout to watch

"Just some random movie", oh yeah she said

Little did I know, it'd change my life

Every single scene

It made my heartbeat like a drum

Come on, August Rush

A boy with melodies

With your two eyes bright open

Oh you played the world

And I could feel the same

Yeah, you lit up my soul

Like every color in the sky

I found a spark inside

Mama, could I start to play six strings?

This might be the fire I'd keep forever

And I won't let my studies fall behind

I know you want me to choose a safe path

But I feel drawn to follow my heart

Every single scene

It made my heartbeat like a drum

Come on, August Rush

A boy with melodies

With your two eyes bright open

Oh you played the world

And I could feel the same

Yeah, you lit up my soul

Like every color in the sky

I found a spark inside

Tell me you (still) hold on to that moment (yeah)

When you felt truly alive

But when your life gets tough(tough), problems are piling up(up)

You let it slip away

Now bring it back to life

Come on, August Rush

A boy with melodies

With your two eyes bright open

Oh you played the world

And I could feel the same

Yeah, you lit up my soul

Like every color in the sky

I found a love I never knew
