Goodbye four lane, hello dirt road

Hello sittin' on a creek bank with a fishin' pole

So long shopping mall, can't say I'll miss you much

I'm gonna spend my dime and a little time on the ones I love

I got a spot picked out on a rural route off of Highway 109

Out past the city limits sign

I just hit the small time

I just hit the small time

Goodbye street lights, hello fireflies

I'll take my sweet thing on a porch swing on a summer night

Goodbye nine to five, deadlines and conference calls

I'm gonna trade my suit for some Red Wing boots and some overalls

I got an old John Deere and my family's

Here and I got my peace of mind

So don't worry 'bout me, I'll be fine

I just hit the small time

I just hit the small time

You can call the Evening News, Country Weekly if you choose

Put it on a big ol' billboard sign, hey, I don't mind

I just hit the small time

I just hit the small time

I just hit the small time

I just hit the small time
