So long we've waited for this day the Lord has made,

Some of you are tired and some are weary from travelin' a long, long way

But I hope someone will join us with a sacrifice of praise

Two men were cast in a prison cell 'cause they preached in Jesus' name

They were beat with whips, and to the wall their hands and feet were chained

At the midnight hour when all was calm, the jailor lay fast asleep

Deliverance fell and the sacrifice of praise set those men free
