88GLAM is a Toronto rap duo known for bridging the gap between streetwise trap and R&B.
∙ The group was formed in 2017 by Derek Wise and 88 Camino, two former members of the Get Home Safe crew who’d also recorded separately as solo artists.
∙ In 2017, the duo released their first music video for the song “12”—the clip featured a cameo from R&B star (and fellow Canadian) The Weeknd, whose XO label signed 88GLAM the following year.
∙ “Bali,” a collaboration with rapper/singer NAV off the pair’s self-titled debut mixtape, went Platinum.
∙ The Gold-certified 2019 remix of “Lil Boat,” which featured rapper Lil Yachty, reached No. 8 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.
∙ 88GLAM has been nominated for four Juno Awards, including nods for Breakthrough Group of the Year in 2019 and Group of the Year in 2020.
