Writing open, earnest, and confessional acoustic-based indie rock songs, singer/songwriter Andrew Cushin is a protégé of Noel Gallagher. His first single was 2020's plaintive but hopeful "It's Gonna Get Better," and Gallagher produced and performed on his third single, "Where's My Family Gone," which appeared later that year. By early 2022, Cushin was signed to Pete Doherty's Strap Originals, which issued his debut EP, You Don't Belong. After a prestigious and extensive 2023 U.S. tour with Louis Tomlinson, Cushin released his first album, Waiting for the Rain, that September.
