Ben Platt is an actor and songwriter known for portraying Evan Hansen in the Broadway run of Dear Evan Hansen and for his role in the movie Pitch Perfect.
∙ At age 9, Platt kicked off his musical career with a role in a production of The Music Man at Los Angeles’ famed Hollywood Bowl.
∙ For his Dear Evan Hansen role, he won a Tony for Best Actor in a Musical, and he became the youngest person ever to win the Drama League’s Distinguished Performance Award.
∙ Platt reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart in 2017 with “Waving Through a Window,” which appeared on the Grammy-winning Dear Evan Hansen cast soundtrack.
∙ In 2018, he and Lin-Manuel Miranda teamed up for a benefit song called “Found / Tonight” which mashed up music from Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen.
∙ His 2019 debut album, Sing to Me Instead, debuted in the Top 20 of the Billboard 200.
∙ He received a Golden Globe nomination for his starring role on the streaming series The Politician.
