Kai Hansen was born in 1963. He was a founding member of the metal band Helloween and played with them from their origins in 1984 to 1989. During his tenure, he both played guitar for them and did vocal work with them at various times. After leaving the group, he eventually found his way to form the band Gamma Ray.
