Sweet-toned singer Sejeong has steadily been making her way in the South Korean music scene since 2012, when she competed on the television show K-Pop Star 2.
• Now a solo artist, Sejeong was previously a part of the girl groups I.O.I and Gugudan, as well as a spin-off team of the latter, Gugudan SeMiNa.
• Sejeong began releasing solo music in 2016 and scored a Top 5 hit with “Flower Way,” a collaboration with rapper Zico.
• Gugudan formally disbanded at the end of 2020 but released their last single in 2018. Since then, Sejeong has released two EPs on her own, 2020’s Plant and 2021’s I’m.
• Along with being a popular singer and television personality, Sejeong is a prominent actor in South Korea. She appeared in 2017’s School 2017, 2019’s I Wanna Hear Your Song, and 2020’s The Uncanny Counter.
• Beyond the shows she’s appeared on, Sejeong has also recorded songs for soundtracks of many South Korean television shows, including Mr. Sunshine and Crash Landing on You. She’s also dueted with such K-pop stars as Doyoung of NCT (2017’s “Star Blossom”) and Leo of VIXX (2018’s “We, the Reds”).
