In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memory is singing”The Lord’s Prayer” for my kindergarten graduation at age four. I wore a white robe with my hands clasped in prayer.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Chaka Khan, Rufus, Ask Rufus Deftones, White Pony Radiohead, The Best of Radiohead Ask Rufus defines my diversity, where came from. Radiohead and Deftones define my becoming, my evolution, who I came to be.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Portrait” It was the first song produced by Aurelian Budynek, my guitarist in my band. He captured everything that I felt in that moment. I could see the painting in my words through his tracks and guitars. I could sing with a freedom and completeness.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Actually, there are two. The first time doing Madison Square Gardens with Elton John. The second, doing my first solo gig with my band at The Viper Room on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would love to sing with Thom Yorke. Maybe do Exit Music (for a film) together and/or be their opening act.
