Canada's LightDreams was a psych and space rock project centered around singer/songwriter Paul Marcano. Formed in 1980, LightDreams showcased Marcano's Beatlesque pop with songs directly influenced by physicist Gerard K. O'Neill's 1977 book about humans living in space, The High Frontier: Human Colonies in Space. The group's sole 1981 album, Islands in Space, was recorded on a TEAC four-track Portastudio, and while something of a rarity, attracted a cult fan base. In 2016, Islands in Space was reissued by Got Kinda Lost. ~ Matt Collar
