In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. In 1989, at 10 years old, I discovered Daniel Lanois’ Acadie on cassette in my mother’s car. That album opened something in me, revealing music as a world of sound and feeling—a discovery that still shapes my work today.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Andrew Manze, Jaap Ter Linden, Richard Egarr, J.S. Bach: Violin Sonatas Daniel Lanois, Goodbye to Language Radiohead, Kid A Andrew Manze's J.S. Bach Violin Sonatas showed me time is three-dimensional. Daniel Lanois’ Goodbye to Language proves artists must risk change. Radiohead’s Kid A remains a landmark in studio production and sonic reinvention.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Interzonal Transit” For me, Interzonal Transit is a threshold piece. I placed it first on Weird Studies Vol.1 because it opens onto the podcast’s world — a passage across ideas, disciplines, and zones.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Between Jan–Mar 2024, I composed and recorded a new 60-minute piece each week for 10 weeks. Ephemera became 600 minutes of music: a diary of sound, born of constraint and focus, showing me how risk and presence can open unexpected worlds.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? What’s left on my bucket list is simple: to keep evolving, to keep creating, and to keep making albums that surprise me—and hopefully, listeners too.
