Celebrated as the Dominican Republic’s first Christian rapper, Redimi2 sprinkles pop culture commentary into a musical blend that’s heavy on hip-hop, pop, reggaetón, and R&B.
∙ Before going solo, he formed Redimi2 Squad with his brother and friends, and their 2000 debut, Combinación Mortal, became the best-selling Dominican Christian album in any genre.
∙ In 2013, he collaborated with Puerto Rican reggaetón artist Funky on Más, which won Best Urban Album honors at the Premios ARPA.
∙ His 2014 LP, Operación Mundial, which featured the hit “El Nombre de Jesús,” crossed over into the Top 10 of Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Albums chart.
∙ Cuban rapper Almighty appeared on 20/20’s Dove Award-nominated “Filipenses 1:6,” which won Best Christian Song at the 2020 Premios Tu Música Urbano.
∙ “Be Alright,” a collaboration with singer-songwriters Danny Gokey and Evan Craft, peaked just shy of the Top 40 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart.
