In 2004, Taufik Batisah went down in lore as the first-ever winner of Singapore Idol. But judging by the numerous awards he’s clinched since, his Idol win was just the tip of the iceberg. The singer has silky vocals and an irresistible stage persona, resulting in smooth pop and R&B hits that made him one of the most popular singers of the Aughts. In the following years, he transitioned effortlessly to sentimental ballads and worked with rappers like Altimet as he continued to find success.
