In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was awash in music from an early age, mostly in church. The hymns and gospel spirituals I grew up in greatly influenced my style. I vividly recall playing sax in church for the first time, and realizing that I had to transpose the piano music!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Frederick Ingram, Elements - EP Frederick Ingram, Initial Exposure Robert Mason Sandifer, Promise - Single Frederick Ingram's _Elements - EP_ is one of the best indie releases of the last decade, and his _Initial Exposure_ double EP is an insightful follow-up. R. Mason Sandifer's "Promise" is a powerful musical retelling of The Flood.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Greek Fair” Of all the songs I've written, I think "Greek Fair" is the best. It's got a great hook on the pre-chorus, and I nerd out on the music theory, especially moving from F major to D major on the bridge. It also captures a special moment in time.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I had the opportunity to open for Irish singer-songwriter Odi after winning the "People's Choice" prize in a songwriting contest (I won with "Contest Winner"). The show was in a robotics factory in rural South Carolina--super cool!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Several things: 1.) Write, record, and release a full album of original tunes! 2.) Tour the Southeast and Midwest playing gigs. 3.) Finally finish composing _Electrock III_!
