Adam Port has a way with basslines: they're propulsive, playful and deep. He's got a way with drums, too, fleshing out lean machine grooves with funk breaks and Latin percussion. The Berlin DJ/producer's rolling, hypnotic tracks are clearly made with his hometown's dance floors in mind; they sound as good at daybreak—or hours after—as they do at midnight. But his impish spirit and vivid tone colors are also influenced by Berlin's famed open-air parties. Cleverly mixing electronic and acoustic elements, his productions breathe fresh air into club music by taking the party outdoors.
