North Carolina's Travis Stewart, better known as Machinedrum, was born in '82. Growing up in a musical family, the multi-instrumentalist started experimenting with electronica in high school. His debut, '01's Now You Know, innovatively mixed hip-hop and IDM, and after graduating from college, he moved to New York, where he balanced his own output with a burgeoning career as a producer for artists like Azealia Banks. Over the course of several albums, Machinedrum has continued to evolve, incorporating styles like jungle and juke.
