Rami Fortis met Barry Sakharof in the late '70s, thus beginning a partnership that would encompass more than four decades. After growing disgusted with the Israeli rock scene, the two formed the post-punk outfit Minimal Compact and performed in English, predominantly in Europe. Returning to Israel with renewed energy in the late '80s, the duo saw their album Tales From the Box become a towering example of Israeli rock's revival.
