The Maid

The light, that little blinking light That kept us up at night And the elevator chains rattle through the wall Well the light, that little blinkin' light That kept us up all night Was tellin' us that we had missed a call We wanted to go out We didn't get far, we couldn't drive a car So we pushed all the elevator buttons 'till we found a bar And out there in the hall, laughin' too loud When we found, that we were locked out We had to call the maid Oh by the way She says hi Over by the door She took her shoes off And left them on the floor Just for us to trip on over and over When the light That little pesky light Was coming through the blinds It reminded me we forgot to hang the sign on the door And when we saw the sun Your diamonds were gone And so were all your drugs And cockroaches scattered when we flipped the bathroom light on And out there in the hall Laughin' too loud When we found that she cleaned us out We had to call the maid Oh by the way She says hi And over by the door She took her shoes off And left them on the floor Just for us to trip on over and over and over Then she left your purse But she took all your cash And your cigarettes with your stash We had to call the maid Oh by the way She says-
