Songtexte

Now I am longer in the tooth
The more that I am Wrong
Was it the fading of my youth
Or was I all that strong
Now that you're one of us
Now that you come to us
Now that you see the way we see the way you see the world
Through our eyes
And come to use
And why you play with us
So that you feel the way we feel the way we feel our way through here
The more that I long to see the truth
The more that I was wrong
The further I get from you
The smaller I become
Highlife is a genre of music which originated in Ghana in the early 20th century, though is often associated with its popularity in Nigeria. Known for its jazzy horn riffs and electric guitars, I wanted to try and include some of the genres sounds in the track (though the influence of Ali Farke Toure's playing is more evident in my guitar work than the Highlife tradition)
This one really led me to think about the mixing of Isaac's and my cultures – HighNow I am longer in the tooth
The more that I am Wrong
Was it the fading of my youth
Or was I all that strong
Now that you're one of us
Now that you come to us
Now that you see the way we see the way you see the world
Through our eyes
And come to use
And why you play with us
So that you feel the way we feel the way we feel our way through here.
The more that I long to see the truth
The more that I was wrong
The further I get from you
The smaller I become
