This Place

Back to where the flowers were white

and my feet danced into summer nights.

This place, once a meadow of green,

now a concrete drop scene.

It’s all good, it’s alright.

I don’t need to see it once again,

it’s so alive in my head.

And, this is even better.

I can pick and choose between the pictures inside.

Now there’s a jungle of green

and a teenage love scene.

Cold wind over asphalt and stone.

I have Joni moaning in my phones.

This place, once in paradise use,

now a parking lot blues.

It’s ok, it’s all fine.

I don’t need to see them all again,

I’m pro’bly just mistaken.

Yeah, this is so much better.

I can pick and choose between the pictures inside.

I see a circle of youths,

holding hands, still not bruised.
