Did anybody ever wonder why

You know, all the things that happen in your life

Lets just take your spiritual life

So you go to a retreat or you sit hours and hours of meditation

And you get into this state and that state and you get very peaceful

Or very this or very that

Maybe not as often as you'd like but

You get into this state or that state

You always know, where do you always come back to?

It's this thing called normal everyday existence, right?

Why do you suppose you always come back here?

And why do you keep insisting that that's somehow a problem that you must escape?

You see what, I'm not saying you as in being accusatory

'Cause I have a PhD in doing this, that's why I know about it, right?

I perfected this, until it started to occur to me

Why is it that I come back to

Here and now?

Maybe because here and now is much more real than where I'm going

And my little inner vacations

Well, that starts to throw a whole different light on everything, doesn't it?

Of course, your spiritual, part of your spiritual world can kind of come crashing down

When you realise that where you're going

Is often a fantasy

If I allow everything to be as it is, maybe I won't get to where I'm going

Now, I'm not saying you as in being accusatory

'Cause I have a PhD in doing this, that's why I know about it, right?

I perfected this, until it started to occur to me

Why is it that I come back to

Here and now?

There is nowhere else...
