Songtexte

The mirror is my past,
Each fragment a reflection of me:
Partial, confused,
Incomplete from wherever I see.
How can I be certain of things
As nobody climbs the wall of machines,
When the challenge has no result,
When the pain adds injury to insult?

No matter what strain
Or what causes my bane,
Nothing will ever be like before;
The breech from my core,
My being nevermore.
Never again, never the same.

But now I see my image being paired.
I know I'm the only one to be blamed.

Dancing and reeling,
Are you myself?
Are you the pale incarnation
Drawn in bleak colors?
Are you my own damnation
Of lost humanity?
Why are you laughing when I mourn?
Why do you dismiss when I stay?
Only you tall one, you lurk in every corner,
Growing sharper with every piece of me
You feed on, silent and terrible,
Dance, and enjoy yourself,
I don't want you, not anymore.
I'm feeling alive but entangled,
An ant in a numb tree.

I became the last.
Even with myself I can't agree:
Partial, confused,
Still the figure won't set me free.
Each adept pulling the strings,
Every seat is a matter of sins,
When the whole meaning is occult,
When each piece gives no result.

No matter which of  twain
The same ill in my veins,
Nothing will be the same anymore;
The breech I can't adore,
My being yet to be compared,
Same again, never the same.
But now I see my image being paired
To haunt the rest that I claimed.

Hand lacerated, and
No matter how much blood,
Which wraith…
Mirror; let me recover
Just a bunch of shards,
Just enough for me to sleep.
Why are you smiling when I mourn?
Why do you stay when I disappear?

Only you tall one, you lurk in every corner,
Growing sharper with every piece of me
You feed on, silent and terrible,
Dance, and enjoy yourself,
I don't want you, not anymore.
I'm feeling alive but entangled,
An ant in a numb tree.
