A Watery Grave

I watch the shores as the hands wave goodbye I look above at painted clouds in the sky I hope to walk the ground again before I die But I swear to God I've never felt so alive There come a time when every man must meet his fate Sometimes the sea will give sometimes the sea will take So if by chance I get lost in the waves Don't shed no tears cause I'm at peace where I lay In a watery grave I closed my eyes the other night I had a dream I saw a man sinking down who looked like me It seemed to me he had a smile on his face It seemed to me that he was happy in this place Crashing waves woke me up from my sleep Couldn't believe they must've been least thirty feet Can't help to wonder if today is that day I see the faces of the men who've gone away To the watery grave I lived a life that normal men will never know I rolled the dice with my life on this boat Where did it go? Why did the time float away? Now I'm at home, I'm at peace where I lay In a watery grave
