What it's like to be a black woman
It's a blessing
Why do you try degrade us tell us that we are aggressive
We got to try twice as hard to be impressive
Were progressive
Won't let it
Determined won't let it
To be a black girl
Diamonds and pearls
Green Emeralds
A beautiful things
Afros and curls
The minerals
Mother earth life
lessons
And like
Daughters the cycles
And sons all loving that
Nothing short of delightful

Im strong like im proud fiust up
Representing for the women for my sisters
Were misunderstood then
Unappreciated
Most misrepresented
And we are the most hated
Misunderstood
Only wronged when your doing good
Not that light skinned Hollywood
Look for them on the rug
Been blessed the same
Slow but surely we change
Blessed times black girl
different in this day and age
Growing up blacks was not always easy
Even When they showed me love they didt really see me
Had loads of friend but couldn't really be me
I didn't embrace my race
I didn't Enjoy it freely
Racism still exists but it's buried deeply
Your pretty for a black girl was meant to please me
Lighter skin is better they had me believing
We try to love ourselves
But were still sticking weaves in
Long hair dont care lets release the facts
Black girls got hair growing down our backs
Locks curls afros that a hair
That's a magic act
And they're all doing squats to get our natural back
They love us then they hate us love we hate ourselves
Skin kissed by the sun we should rate ourselves
Get degraded at times
We have to raise ourselves
Put on a smile Black girl go ahead and praise yourself
